All Australian Labradoodle coat types fall into one of the following categories; fleece, wool, or hair.
The Fleece textured coat is a soft texture as in the Angora goat. It can either have a straight wavy look or a soft spiraling curl look. It is an easy to manage textured coat.
The Wool coat is like a lamb’s wool in texture. It should have the appearance of looser spiraling wool, which opens up easily to the skin. This coat is the most allergy-friendly. The coat is similar to that of a poodle.
The hair coat has odor and sheds in varying degrees. It is most like the coat type of Labradors. It is usually seen in early generation dogs such as the first cross of a lab and poodle, F1b, and F2b Labradoodles.
